1. Already exist..
2. Exist in SMS 32bit LTSP v4.2.
3,4,6 I'll look at them, although 3 and 6 they are quite special apps.
5. I always recommend avast antivirus, but I haven't look at license details, and if I can provide packages for SMS.

You can try motion as more lightweight alternative for ZoneMinder, if you'll find it functional enough.
With some plain HTML code to public snapshots & motion clips that seems all I need now... and much simplier to configure. _________________ In CODe we TRUST! |

Dear Ansy,
I know this program but if you check it you will see that zoneminder is more precise and more profesionnal.
As I found SMS is really a professionnal tool I informed geraminos_h that this program can upgadre the level of SMS.
And I am curently busy to prepare this server to use it for home management (domotic) and survey but also as a file, printer, mail and web server. I just hope he can also give us the really professionnal network tool that Zabbix gives and for me SMS will really be the most great small server I never saw.
Thanks for your information and have a nice day,

Dear Ansy and gerasimos_h,
as I talked here about the webmin zoneminder module that is now not available on the www.dvos.dk/zm may be could you tell us or help us to be able to use this motion interface to be used on our SMS :
http://www.kmotion.eu/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page
I just read back the comment the developer of kmotion told me and let you know this specification to allow using kmotion as frontend. He said :
will need to run Python as a back end scripting
language, Apache uses the libapache2-mod-python module
With pleasure to read if you could implement it on SMS it will may be more efficient that zoneminder. I will test both to be sure which is more interesting for home survey.
Have a nice day,

Added kmotion, motion and mod_python under /testing/LinuxDVR.
kmotion run as user administrator, default login is kmotion:kmotion at port 8085 (http://[yourserver]:8085).
config password default to none, just press submit.
There is a startup script /etc/rc.d/rc.kmotion but there is a cronjob @reboot to run at start anyway.

Well, great many thanks for announcing kmotion to me and adding it in SMS distribution, I'll try it ASAP when video hardware will be available near my clients' SMS-based server.
For now I'm successfully testing kmotion on Ubuntu desktop and it does great using local USB webcam + IP webcam shared via webcamXP app from another Win7 desktop. _________________ In CODe we TRUST! |
