I'm moving my family pictures to my Samba server via an FTP upload. I zipped the whole bunch into a 6GB file and it errored out with a Broken pipe error. I broke it down to a smaller bite and tried to transfer 1.6GB. Same result. When I looked at the ftp folder in File Manager, it uploaded 1514 MB both times. I'm guessing there is a significance. I am running EXT2 for / and EXT 4 for /home, |

I used the default setup which puts everything in /var/ftp, and for that matter, for Samba, in /var/smb/samba. I filled up my root partition. I changed the config files in the servers to use /home/ftp and /home/smb/samba respectively and created the the /home/smb/samba dir. Changed attr to 777 and it all worked. Then I moved everything over. Retrospectively, I could have also changed the /var dirs. for links to the /home folders.
Thanks,
