Hi, i'm having trouble trying to install SMS on a old, simple computer box (a i486 1ghz 256 ram thin client).

As the unit have very low internal memory, i'm using a pendrive as installation source and a usb to sata/ide adapter with a 2tb harddisk as target.

The installation run sucefull (slow but ok), but now my new system doesnt boot. I've got kernel panic with "VFS: Cannot open root device "822" or unknow-block(8,34): error -6"
and then it shows me the tiny internal flash drive as available partition, only.

If i boot with the installation pendrive again, i'm able to mount the system partitions without any problem.

In my search, i've saw that seem to be a missing driver in kernel configuration, but i really dont know what it is.

Can someone help me?

Hi, from what I understand you want to install SMS on a USB external Disk...
To accomplish that you need to install it again by running "setup.uuid" instead of "setup"...

You can convert your current installation to UUID by following this guide
